Junior Orchestra
Junior Orchestra
Junior Orchestra is open to students who have successfully completed the Beginning Strings Class or a year of private lessons. Private lessons are strongly encouraged along with Junior Orchestra participation.
Junior Orchestra meets weekly, on Fridays 3:30-4:30. We tackle music from a variety of genres. Recent repertoire includes excerpts from Joseph's Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat and the theme from Rocky. We directly teach orchestra skills, such as tracking the music, counting measures, following tempo changes, note reading and music theory.
We seek community venues to perform, such as the Festival at Mount Si, where we have performed each summer since 2014.
Snoqualmie Strings seeks to offer an orchestra experience at a very reasonable price. We are currently charging $400 for the entire year. Concerts are free. Auditions are optional for Junior Orchestra, though they are encouraged for students new to Snoqualmie Strings. You can sign up for an audition here, or just register for Junior Orchestra:
