Chamber Orchestra
In order to qualify for Chamber Orchestra, students are generally in Suzuki Book 4 or higher, are developing vibrato, and are able to play in higher positions.
Chamber Orchestra meets weekly, on Fridays 2:30-4:00. We tackle music from a variety of genres.
Examples include string arrangements of Smetana's Moldau, Saent-Saens Danse Baccanale, and Dvorak Slavonic Dances, We also combine with Youth Orchestra and Junior Orchestra to perform excerpts from great works such as Night on Bald Mountain, Capriccio Espagnol, and the Planets.
Chamber Orchestra is self-directed. Coaches encourage listening to each other, balance, musical expression, and leadership.
We seek community venues to perform, such as the Festival at Mount Si, where we have performed nearly each summer since June 2009.
