Junior Orchestra

Junior Orchestra is open to students who have successfully completed the Beginning Strings Class or a year of private lessons. Private lessons are strongly encouraged along with Junior Orchestra participation.

Junior Orchestra meets weekly, on Fridays 3:10-4:10.  We tackle music from a variety of genres. Recent repertoire includes excerpts from Beethoven's Pastoral Symphony, and Pirates of the Caribbean. We directly teach orchestra skills, such as tracking the music, counting measures, following tempo changes, and even some note reading and music theory.

We seek community venues to perform, such as the Festival at Mount Si, where we have performed each summer since 2014.
