Cultivate Music Close to Home

Snoqualmie Strings is a youth symphony program for school-aged kids playing strings instruments of violin, viola, cello or bass.

Directed & led by local professional musicians, Snoqualmie Strings gives beginning and advancing players a place to play with peers, expanding their repertoire in a variety of genres for local events and venues.

Programs Offered

Whether your child is just beginning, needs the motivation to keep practicing or the challenge of an advanced ensemble, Snoqualmie Strings involves & inspires all levels through the following 4 programs:

Snoqualmie Strings Youth Orchestra

Meeting after school on Fridays from 2:30-4:00, the youth symphony incorporates all musical levels.  Young musicians play simple parts along side advanced musicians playing more complex parts.  Together, the symphony performs from a variety of genres for events and venues in the community.

For an extra challenge,  advanced players learn all of the Youth Orchestra music, plus a few pieces of their own.  They also spend some time mentoring less advanced players in Youth Orchestra and Junior Orchestra.

The perfect place for students who have a year or two of playing experience but need a place to grow musically before tackling the increased challenge of Youth Orchestra.  In additional to learning their own songs, these students play simple parts with Youth Orchestra.

Seedlings

An afterschool program teaching fundamentals of playing; offered 1 hour weekly at elementary schools for children just starting out.
Unlike most orchestras that learn music for one concert and never play it again, Snoqualmie Strings builds a repertoire to perform like we're doing here for the 2009 North Bend Centennial Celebration.

When your child plays great music next to a
professional player...

When a toddler stops to listen...

When a local nursing home resident taps his toe...

When advancing students have opportunities to perform
with peers & are empowered as mentors...

Snoqualmie Strings keeps the Zest

for music alive!
