Cultivate Music Close to Home

Snoqualmie Strings is a youth symphony program for school-aged kids playing strings instruments of violin, viola, cello or bass.

Directed & led by local professional musicians, Snoqualmie Strings gives beginning and advancing players a place to play with peers, expanding their repertoire in a variety of genres for local events and venues.

Meet Our Directors

Director Sheila Bateman’s 20+ years of experience playing and teaching children and her desire to see opportunities not available locally or through the schools is what inspired her to create Snoqualmie Strings.  Professional violist Seth May-Patterson and violinist Caroline Faflak bring professional playing and teaching experience that allow time for more small-group and advanced ensemble instruction. Their collaborative efforts in Snoqualmie Strings provide the soil for any young aspiring musician to grow.
